HELEN JEAN WEST

Helen Jean West, age 85, of Gnadenhutten, O., passed away on Friday, September 1, 2017 at her residence, following a lengthy illness. 

The daughter of the late William H. and Clara M. (Stevens) Craigo, Helen was born August 4, 1932 in Tippecanoe, O.  She graduated from Freeport High School and was a member of the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church.  Helen enjoyed camping, quilting, traveling and she loved to collect angels.

In addition to her parents, Helen is preceded in death by her husband, who just passed away on August 21, 2017, Homer West; 3 brothers William; Samuel and Robert; a sister Sandra Friend and a granddaughter Bobbi Jo Kranz.

Helen is survived by her daughter Donna Jean Redfern of Gnadenhutten; siblings Doris Ilene (James) McCollough and Dorothy Irene Rivers all of Georgia; grandchildren Rachel (Tom) Bowser, Solomon Cruz, Peggy Redfern and Jennifer Redfern 2 great grandsons and numerous nieces and nephews.  Special thanks to Bryan and Pam Cox; Kevin Friend and cousins Dave & Norma Stevens.

Funeral services for Helenwill be held at 1 p.m., on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home, Inc. at Uhrichsville, with the Pastor David Koch and the Pastor Sandra Cappel officiating.  Burial will follow at Ridgecrest Memory Gardens in Dover.

Calling hours will be from 11:30 to 1 p.m., (one and a half hours prior to services) on Wednesday, September 6, 2017, at the funeral home.
