HOMER NEIL COX
Homer Neil Cox, age 60, of Midvale, passed away at his residence, on Saturday, August 12, 2017, following a lengthy illness.
Born on June 19, 1957 at Dennison, Neil is the son of the late Homer and Delores (Williamson) Cox.
In 1975, Neil graduated from Claymont High School. He served his country in the United States Army. Neil was employed at American Sand and Gravel, and was a heavy equipment operator for 25 years. He enjoyed golfing, corn hole, the Cleveland Indians, Browns and Cavaliers and the Ohio State Buckeyes.
In addition to his parents, Neil is preceded in death by a brother Walter Smith, 2 infant brothers, grandson Maverick N. Cox and his mother-in-law Mary Horvath.
On April 5, 1980 in Uhrichsville Neil married his wife Kathy Jo (Horvath) Cox, who survives of the home. Also surviving are their children Brandy (James) Devore of Uhrichsville, Ryan (Deana) Cox of Newcomerstown and Jerrod (Jaclyn) Cox of Dover; siblings Karin (Bob) Walker of Barnhill, Ruth Stoll of Dennison, Brenda Stull (Glenn Jones), Ruby Cox, Lori Cox, Lloyd (Lynette) Cox all of Uhrichsville; five grandchildren Destinie, Garrett and Daelynn Devore, Syler and Jaxon Cox and baby boy Cox due in December; his father-in-law John G. Horvath of N. Canton and his dog “Harley”.
Father Tyron Tomson will celebrate the funeral Mass on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at 10 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery near Dennison.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m., on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home, Inc. at Uhrichsville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Immaculate Conception Church.
