JOSEPH MARIO MONTE

Joseph Mario Monte, age 76, of Dover, passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2017, at Hennis Care Centre in Dover, following a lengthy illness.

Born on September 21, 1940 in Dundee, Joseph is the son of the late Louis and Jennie M. (Beamer) Monte.  In addition to his parents, Joseph is preceded in death by his wife Bonnie Jo Monte, who passed away August 18, 2005 and a brother Emmet Semple.

Joseph graduated from Midvale High School and was employed as a blaster grinder at Gradall in New Philadelphia.  He was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Newport United Methodist Church.  Joseph was a lifetime time member of the Tuscarawas County Coonhunters Club, an Umpire of High School Baseball and Softball for 28 years and a member of the Tuscarawas County Umpire Hall of Fame.

Joseph is survived by his a son Denver (Dawna) Monte; two siblings Theresa Morgan and Henry (Scharlene) Monte; two grandchildren Jodee (Richard) Dunlap and Maranda Monte and three great grandchildren Madison, Mackinzee and Braxtyn.

Funeral services for Joseph will be held on Monday, July 31, 2017 at 10 a.m., at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home, Inc. at Uhrichsville with the Rev. Lyle Warren officiating.  Burial will follow at Evergreen Burial Park in New Philadelphia.

Calling hours will be from 3 to 5 p.m., on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at the funeral home.
