KAY F. ARMSTRONG
Kay F. Armstrong, age 76, of Uhrichsville, O., passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Trinity Hospital Twin City in Dennison, following a period of declining health.
Born on January 22, 1941 in Gnadenhutten, Kay was the daughter of the late Karl and Alice (Dietrich) Zimmerman.
In 1958, Kay graduated from Gnadenhutten High School and in 1959 she completed NDC Beauty School in Canton. Kay was employed as a manager at Quaker Dairy for many years. She was a member of the Rush Community Church of the Nazarene. She held many positions in the Rush Township Women’s Auxiliary for over 40 years. She was also active in the Rush School events. Kay enjoyed card club and mostly gardening in her family garden in which she named “Rocky River”.
After meeting at the Riverside Roller Rink, Kay married William R. Armstrong on March 5, 1960. He survives of the home. Also surviving is her daughter Marina (John) Colombo of New Philadelphia; grandchildren Marco Colombo, Kennedy, Jacob and Isabella Armstrong; daughter-in-law Amy Armstrong of Uhrichsville; son-in-law Zachary Schumacher of New Philadelphia; sister-in-law Diane Zimmerman of Florida; family friends Bob Markley and Frank Wanosik and her dog “Angel”.
In addition to her parents, Kay is preceded in death by a son Scott L. Armstrong; a daughter Stacey R. Schumacher and siblings Tom and Ray Zimmerman.
Funeral services for Kay will be held at 6 p.m., on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home in Uhrichsville, with the Pastor Brett Warkentine officiating. Private burial will be held on the family farm.
Calling hours will be from 3 to 6 p.m., (three hours prior to services) on Thursday, January 26, 2017, at the funeral home.
