MARTHA JANE ROUP

Martha Jane Roup, age 94, of Uhrichsville, O., passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 20418 at Hennis Care Centre in Dover, following an extended illness.

Born on September 6, 1923 in Dennison, Martha was the daughter of the late George and Emma (Thompson) Steve.

Martha was known for her great pie baking and cooking.  She loved to go to church and study her bible and listen to gospel music.  Martha had a smile that could win a war and would do anything for you.  She always enjoyed a trip shopping and buying things for her family.  Martha was very proud of the musical talents of her daughter in law and grandsons.

Martha is survived by her son and his wife Byron “Bud” and Sheila Burdette of Uhrichsville; sisters Margaret Ford of Cambridge and Helen Delorita of Massillon; grandsons Jeffery Lee (Amanda) Burdette and James Blair Burdette; great grandchildren John Mohn, Jakob Michael Burdette, Mikayla Mohn and Jaxon Blair Burdette; nieces and nephews Rich, Greg, Becky, Cheryl, Gene, Mark, Sherry, Suzy and JJ.

In addition to her parents, Martha is preceded in death by her first husband Byron “Barney” Burdette and second husband Carmie Roup and a sister Mary Mayberry.

In keeping with Martha’s wishes, no services or calling hours will be observed.
