PAUL LEWIS RUFENER

Paul Lewis Rufener, age 70, of New Philadelphia, born the son of the late Benjamin and Ethyl (Thompson) Rufener, on April 4, 1947 in Los Angeles, California; passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2017, at Hennis Care Centre in Dover.

Paul graduated from Tuscarawas High School and enlisted in the United States Air Force, having served from October 27, 1965 until January 26, 1973.  He was employed as a truck driver for 38 years until his retirement in 2009.  He enjoyed walking, golf, fishing, gardening and especially spending time with his family. 

On August 9, 1968 in St. Clairsville, O., Paul married his loving wife of 48 years Patricia Rufener, who survives of the home.  Also surviving are their children Jason L. (companion Charlotte) Rufener of Lexington, John A. (Trina) Rufener of Newton Falls, Benjamin T. (Katie) Rufener of Shelby and Jessica R. (Jeremy) Connor of Uhrichsville; seven grandchildren Kayla (Tommy) Dixson, Danielle (companion Bobby) Rufener, Patty Rufener, Dakota Bell, Autumn Bell, Johnny Rufener and Reagan Rufener; four great grandchildren Joey, Kadyn, Trevor and Bobby Jr.

In keeping with Paul’s wishes, no calling hours or services will be observed.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hennis Care Centre in Dover or Cleveland Clinic Taussig Cancer Center.
