RODGER LEE GALLAGHER

1950-2017

Rodger Lee Gallagher, age 66, of New Philadelphia, passed away suddenly on Monday, May 15, 2017, at Union Hospital in Dover, following a brief illness.

The son of Joan Evelyn (Fisher) Gallagher and the late Roy Gallagher, Rodger was born July 27, 1950 in Dover, O.

Rodger graduated from New Philadelphia High School and Kent State University.  He retired at Timken where he worked as a machinist for 29 years.  Rodger attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.  He was good at caring for people.

Rodger is survived by his mother Joan Gallagher of New Philadelphia; sister Joni Smith of New Philadelphia; uncle Dorn Fisher of New Philadelphia; former wife Anna Alfar and was known as “Uncle Rodger” to sixteen nieces and nephews.

Graveside services for Rodger will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, May 19, 2017 at East Avenue Cemetery in New Philadelphia, with his nephew Michael Smith officiating.
