VIRGINIA “GINNY” KAY EDWARDS

Virginia “Ginny” Kay Edwards, age 70, of Uhrichsville, O., passed away on Friday, November 3, 2017, at Claymont Health and Rehabilitation in Uhrichsville, following an extended illness.

Born on July 21, 1947, in Dennison, Ginny was the daughter of the late James and Lula (Brown) Cottrell.  In addition to her parents, Ginny is preceded in death by her former husband Ronald G. Edwards and former companion John Corbin; sisters Mary Ann Yoder, Edna Howell, Emma Lou Blackford, Barb Kauffman and Audrey Legge; brothers Bobby, Joe and Ralph Cottrell and grandson Brent “Bubba” Edwards.

Ginny was a homemaker who enjoyed country music and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Ginny is survived by her children Darla (Clifford) Cox of Dennison, Amy (Carl) Swain of New Philadelphia and Doug (Amy) Edwards of Uhrichsville; siblings Ray (Sally) Cottrell of Uhrichsville and Pete (Debbie) Cottrell of New Philadelphia; grandchildren Brittney (Anthony) Frame, Brooke (Vic) Santana and Trevor Swain; great grandchildren Chantzen Frame and Jaxton Frame; 2 brothers-in-law Roy Yoder and Butch Kauffman and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services for Ginny will be held at 1 p.m., on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at the Newport United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Lyle Warren officiating.
