THOMAS JAMES FELLERS

Thomas James Fellers, age 86, of Uhrichsville, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital in Dover.

Tom was born in Dennison on August 29, 1937.  He is the son of the late Floyd Franklin and Katherine (Cowan) Fellers. Tom was a lifelong resident of Tuscarawas and the vicinity.

Tom was a PROUD US Marine Corps veteran, serving 8 years, and a member of the Tuscarawas County Marine Corps League and a member of the Tuscarawas VFW Honor Guard.  He served with the Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Department and underwater team for 38 years.  Tom was a former employee of US Concrete and retired from Stocker Concrete.  He was also a member of the St. James Lutheran Church, having served as a member of Council and on the Property Committee, where he was instrumental in many large projects including the installation of the handicapped lift, air conditioning, preserving the stained glass windows, lighting projects and restrooms.

Tom took pride in all he did, taking care of his home and property.  He loved working with his Steiner tractor.  He and “Margie” enjoyed many trips traveling on cruises, casino trips and car trips throughout the US together, including Alaska and the Hawaiian Islands.

In addition to his parents, Tom is preceded in death by his sisters Doris Demattio and Barbara Schaar; daughter-in-law Tammy Joe Fellers; son Thomas Fellers; and his beloved Airedales “Lady”, “Muffie” and “Maggie”.

Tom is survived by his wife, who he married February 11, 1984 at the St. James Lutheran Church in Tuscarawas, Margaret Kopp, who survives of the home; children Timothy (Marla) Fellers and David (Karen) Fellers; grandchildren Andrew Fellers, Christopher (Grace) Fellers, Daniel (Sierra) Fellers, Thomas (Jes) Fellers, Ethan (Prasanna) Fellers, Holden Fellers and Lucas (Alayna) Fellers; great grandchildren Jackson and Isabella Fellers; brothers Donald (Carrie) Fellers and William Fellers; along with many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Tom will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at the St. James Lutheran Church in Tuscarawas.  Inurnment will follow at St. James Lutheran Church Cemetery.
