AGNES ANN EDWARDS

Agnes Ann Edwards, age 79, of Uhrichsville, passed away on May 23, 2018, at her residence, following a period of declining health.

The daughter of the late Otto and Mary Florence (Leggett) Malterer, Agnes was born June 23, 1938 in Union Township, O.  She was employed at Bell Telephone, Tusco in Gnadenhutten, A & P Store and Gooding’s IGA, for a number of years.  Agnes was a member of the 11th Street Church of God in Uhrichsville.  She loved to shop, sew, garden, play the organ, write poetry, the swimming pool, but mostly she enjoyed spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Agnes is preceded in death by 2 brothers Harold and Bud Malterer; 4 sisters Marie Rogers, Jane Murphy, Alice Henry and Gertrude Ballentine; daughter-in-law Jan Edwards and 2 grandsons Thomas Edwards and Zachary Abbuhl.

Agnes is survived by her husband Eddie Thomas “Whitey” Edwards, whom she married August 24, 1963, celebrating 55 years of marriage and who survives of the home; children Robert and Rose Edwards of Newcomerstown, Autum and Bob Dennis, Janie Abbuhl (significant other Russ Clum), Toby and Pam Edwards and Robby and Tammy Edwards, all of Uhrichsville; 17 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Private family services will be held and burial will take place in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery.
