FRANK HERMAN WESSON JR.
Frank Herman Wesson Jr., age 89, of Uhrichsville, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2018, at Schoenbrunn Healthcare in New Philadelphia.
Born on January 14, 1929, in Dennison, Frank is the son of the late Frank H. Wesson Sr. and Anna Agusta (Hoffmann) Wesson. In addition to his parents, Frank is preceded in death by his siblings Frances Arnold, Paul R. Wesson and Winifred Stumm and son-in-law Jim Harris.
In 1948, Frank graduated from Uhrichsville High School and attended Ohio State University. He enlisted in the United States Army and served in the Korean Conflict. Frank was employed at Pittsburg Plate Glass, U. S. Concrete Pipe as a draftsman and owned and operated LaPorte Furniture for many years. For 40+ years, Frank was a drummer in the band “The Clefs”; he taught drafting in night school at New Philadelphia and was a member of the Uhrichsville First Moravian Church. He enjoyed gardening, animals, sports and farming.
Frank is survived by his wife Evelyn (Shaw) Wesson, who survives of the home; his children Rhonda (Richard) Vierheller of New Philadelphia, Dan (Beth) Wesson of Senacaville and Debbie Harris of Pickney, Michigan; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 7:000 p.m., at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home, Inc. in Uhrichsville with the Pastor Dale Ickes officiating. The Newcomerstown Veterans Honor Guard will conduct military services immediately following the memorial service.
Calling hours will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m., (one and a half hours prior to services) on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Tuscarawas County Humane Society.
