KAREN SUE BEAR

1956-2017

Karen Sue Bear, age 61, of Tippecanoe, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at her residence following a lengthy illness.

Karen was born February 8, 1956 in Dennison, the daughter of the late Charles and Laverda (Ridgway) Starkey.  Karen graduated from Lakeland High School and was employed at Bakers IGA, Styx Corp, Raiders Restaurant in Freeport and Dollar General Market in Uhrichsville.  She attended Mt. Caramel Church.  Karen enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren and attending their school activities.

In addition to her parents, Karen is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Bear, who passed away in 2012 and a brother Robert Starkey.

Karen is survived by her two daughters Chasity (Kevin) Walton of Tippecanoe and Kayla Bear of Freeport; a brother Kenneth (Carol) Starkey of New Philadelphia; three grandchildren Allison and Mallory Walton and Kendra Pulley and her cat “Oreo”.

Funeral services for Karen will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, September 22, 2017 at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home, Inc. at Uhrichsville, with the Pastor David Koch and the Pastor Sandra Cappel officiating.  Burial will follow at Greenmont Union Cemetery in Freeport.

Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m., on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help defray funeral expenses.
