MILAN “MIKE” BOROJEVICH, JR.
1930-2018
Milan “Mike” Borojevich, Jr., age 88, of Uhrichsville, passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2018, on the shores of Lake Erie, surrounded by his loving family. Born on August 8, 1930, at the Royal Settlement (Midvale), Mike was a son of the late Milan, Sr. and Marija (Radinovich) Borojevich.
Mike attended the Uhrichsville First United Methodist Church and was a 1948 graduate of Midvale High School. He served in the U. S. Navy from 1951 to 1954. He was a former employee of the Royal Sewer Pipe Company in Midvale, Alsco Anaconda in Gnadenhutten and a self-employed Union Barber for 59 years. He loved and was loved by his many customers of Mike’s Barbershop in Uhrichsville. Mike was a life member of the Uhrichsville Elks #424, Past Master of Mystic Tie Lodge #194, Uhrichsville Moose Lodge 740, a former Mill Township Trustee, Ohio Reads Volunteer and a 3-gallon blood donor.
He was married November 12, 1954, at St. Demetrius Serbian Orthodox Church in Akron, to Norma Jean Young, who passed away on January 22, 2018. They would have celebrated their 64th Wedding Anniversary in November.
Surviving are five children: Milan “Mike” III, Milana Grace, Cathy Jean (Russ) Cottis, Nicholas John (Mia) and Carla Jean (Steve) Harmon; 12 grandchildren: Mia and Lia Borojevich, Louis, Jeanna, Marija and Joe Cottis, Eric, Milana and Margaret “Meg” Harmon, Abigail, Nicholas and Lucas Borojevich and one great-grandson Shilo, completes the family.
Mike was preceded in death by three brothers: George, Joe and Walter and one sister Kathryn “Katy” (Borojevich) Dryden.
Private services for Mike will be held at Union Cemetery in Uhrichsville. A celebration of Mike’s life will be held on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at 1 p.m., at the Uhrichsville First United Methodist Church, with Pastor Shaun Green officiating.
