AREATHA MAE PRICE WALKER

Areatha Mae Price Walker, age 94, of Canton, formerly of Uhrichsville, passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2018, at the Hanover Healthcare in Massillon, following a lengthy illness. 

Born on June 1, 1923, in Blowing Springs, GA, Areatha was the daughter of the late Gracie Price Eddings.

Areatha was employed at Fab Ohio and was also a house keeper.  She enjoyed bowling, playing baseball as a young girl and she played volleyball as a Senior Citizen.

In addition to her mother, Areatha is preceded in death by her husband Robert M. Walker, whom she married May 24, 1941 and who passed away on November 30, 1994; sister Roberta Malone; brother Paul Eddings;  grandchildren Denise Sumpter Wilder and Robert Woods; and great granddaughter Anaya Johnson.

Areatha is survived by her children Faith Diane Sumpter of East Canton, Rose Mary Walker Brown of Canton, and Suzette Irene Woods of Dover; sister Jean (Marshall) Robinson of Ottawa, Tennesee; 10 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren and 36 great great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Areatha will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 1 p.m., at the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Dennison, with the Pastor William Blake officiating.  Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Uhrichsville.

Calling hours will be from 11 to 1 p.m., (two hours prior to services) at the church.
