Bertha E. Ellwood, age 87, of Uhrichsville, O., passed away, on Monday, June 8, 2015, at Trinity Hospital Twin City in Dennison, following a lengthy illness.
Bertha was born February 22, 1928 in Geneva, PA, the daughter of the late Alfred Perry and Kathryn E. (Anthony) Grinell. She was employed previously at Miller Studio and as a packager at AAMCO Transmission, until her retirement. Bertha enjoyed baking, crossword puzzles and she dearly loved her family.
In addition to her parents, Bertha is preceded in death by her husband Edward J. Ellwood; her son Edward Ellwood; 5 sisters and 4 brothers.
Bertha is survived by her two children Bridget (Charles) Western of Uhrichsville and Patrick (Patricia) McHenry of New Philadelphia; sister Maxine Holzer of Meadville, PA; sister-in-law Margaret Grinell of Cambridge Springs, PA; 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Funeral services for Bertha will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home, Inc. at Uhrichsville, with the Rev. Mark Unrue officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Uhrichsville.
Calling hours will be from 11 to 1, (two hours prior to services) on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at the funeral home.
