Betty Jane Burroway, age 86, of Uhrichsville, O., passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2015, at Community Hospice House in New Philadelphia, following a period of declining health.
Born October 13, 1929 at Uhrichsville, Betty Jane was the daughter of the late Harry E. Cramer Sr. and Barbara C. (Gebelin) Cramer. In addition to her parents, Betty Jane is preceded in death by two infant siblings; four brothers Harry E. Cramer Jr., Roy E. Cramer, Charles H. Cramer and Fred E. Cramer; three nephews and one niece.
In 1948, Betty Jane graduated from Uhrichsville High School. She was employed at Ben Franklin store in Uhrichsville, Maurer Brothers Plumbing, First Christian Church and the Claymont Public Library. Betty Jane was a member of the First Christian Church in Uhrichsville since June 1967. She loved to read, crossword puzzles and roller skating in which she skated until she was 75.
On June 17, 1963, at Uhrichsville, Betty Jane married her husband of 52 years, Glenn B. Burroway, who survives of the home; brother-in-law Gary (Mari Anne) Burroway of Doylestown; along with numerous nephews and nieces including a special niece Cindy Weaver of Bakersville.
Funeral services for Betty Jane will be held at 7 p.m., on Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home, Inc. at Uhrichsville, with the Rev. Gordon Furbay officiating. Private burial will take place at Union Cemetery in Uhrichsville.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m., (three hours prior to services) on Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at the funeral home.
