Charles "Butch" Tatman Obituary

Charles Edward "Butch" Tatman

Charles Edward "Butch" Tatman passed away on Friday November 26, 2021 at the Claymont Rehabilitation Center in Uhrichsville, Ohio. He was born on March 23, 1953, in Dennison Ohio, to the late Charles Emory and Betty Jo (Coventry) Tatman.

Butch lived most of his life on the family farm on Tatman Road in Uhrichsville. For the first part of his life, he was raised by his grandparents, Cecil and Jessie (Irvin) Tatman. The latter part of his life his brother and sister-n-law, Orville and Debora (Quillin) Tatman took him into their home and lovingly took care of him for the remainder of his life.  Butch attended the Tuscarawas County Starlight School and Work Shop for many years.

Butch loved to sit on the porch and play his guitar. He drove his lawn tractor all over the family farm and often would drive across the field to visit his favorite aunt, Margaret (Tatman) Wright.

Butch never met a stranger. He always had a handshake and a smile for everyone.

Butch was preceded in death by his parents Charles Emory and Betty Jo (Coventry) Tatman, his grandparents Cecil and Jessie (Irvin) Tatman and Orville and Edith (Martin) Coventry and a half sister, Diana Lee Burdette as well as several aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his step-mother, Elsie (Owens) Tatman, his brother Orville (Debora) Tatman, his half-brothers Michael (Esther) Tatman and Mark Tatman and his half-sister Sarah (Ron) Grezlik, all of Uhrichsville. He is also survived by his foster brother, William "Billy Gene" (Chris) Irvin of Grove City, several nieces, nephews and cousins as well as his Aunt Margaret (Tatman) Wright and her daughter Alma Jean (Wright) Quillin who were his co-caregivers.

Cremation will take place and he will be laid to rest in the spring of 2022 on the family farm in the Tatman Family Cemetery on Tatman Road in Uhrichsville Ohio. Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home in Uhrichsville has been entrusted with the arrangements.
