CHARLES EDWARD “ED” CHARNOCK
Charles Edward “Ed” Charnock, age 67, of New Philadelphia, O., passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2016, at his residence, following a lengthy illness.
Ed was born on February 6, 1948 in Dover, the son of the late William and Thelma (Bonifant) Charnock. In 1966, Ed graduated from Tuscarawas High School. He was employed at Timken in Canton for 39 years until his retirement in 2005. Ed was a member of the Uhrichsville Moose, Eagles, Elks, Tuscarawas VFW and the United Steelworkers of America. He loved to go to car shows, watch westerns on TV and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Ed is preceded in death by his siblings Dorothy McCoy, James Charnock, Patricia Lahmers and William “Red” Charnock.
On December 17, 1977, Ed married Nancy (Binkley) Charnock, who survives of the home. Also surviving are their children Lissa (John) Bauer of Dover, Amy (Gary) Devore of Uhrichsville and Greg Gowins of California; his siblings Norma Cerana of Uhrichsville, Margorie Lee of Strasburg, Robert (Beverly) Charnock of Uhrichsville, Debra (Michael) Thomas of Strasburg; eight grandchildren Aly, Jossalyn, Emerson, Jeremey, Jareco, Autumn, Justin and Brooke; one great grandson Corben; sisters-in-law Katherine Binkley of Marblehead and Janice (John) Szymialis of Avon Lake, FL, Joyce Charnock of Hiram, O.; brother-in-law Earl Lahmers of Bolivar and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Ed will be held at 7 p.m., on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home, Inc. at Uhrichsville with the Pastor Brian Flood officiating.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m., (two hours prior to services) on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at the funeral home.
