Donna Irene (Meese) Swaldo

DONNA IRENE SWALDO

Donna Irene Swaldo, age 90, of Uhrichsville, passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, August 23, 2022.  She was born on October 15, 1931, to the late Delbert and Evelyn (Crouse) Meese of Brightwood.  She is also preceded in death by her sister Betty (Harold) Peterman and her brother Melvin (Mary Lou) Meese.

Donna graduated from Midvale High School in 1949.  She married the love of her life, Frederick R. Swaldo on January 28, 1951.  Together they had three children: Rick (Joyce) Swaldo, Debbie (Ronnie) Mangus, and Diane (Chip) Bolon.  Their children produced 13 grandchildren: Mike (Robin) Bolon, Chip (Tammy) Bolon, Tricia (Matt) Hopkins, Carron Ickes (Michelle), Jennie (Chuck) Storrie, Kristi (Corey) Reiss, Lana (Tony Scalambrino, Marci (Justin) Smitley, Ross (Tiffani) Swaldo, Lyndsi (Mike) Murphy, Tyler (Christina) Bolon, Alissa Mangus, and Kaitlyn Mangus. They have 28 great grandchildren: Brittany, Michael, Gabby, Dillon, Alaina, Katie, Holden, Dalton, Trevor, Chase, Trey, Emily, Emma, Jocelyn, Chelsea, Anthony, Cecily, Rocco, Ethan, Zander, Rylan, Tru, Kendle, Tyson, Aubree, Lily, Frederick and John.  They have 11 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Donna had informed her loved ones that the best part of her 90 years was her family.  She adored them and they cherished her.  She loved spending time with them, often attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and performances.  Donna also never forgot birthdays and always sent cards.  She enjoyed traveling throughout the United States. She also loved Christmas, chocolate, going to casinos, giggling with her grandchildren and parties/get-togethers of any kind.  She always made sure she had plenty of food available, including ice cream and candy for any visitors.  Donna’s other love was all of her families’ pets, regardless if they were a dog, cat, rabbit or pig.

Services for Donna will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at the Schoenbrunn Community Moravian Church, 2200 E. High Ave., New Philadelphia, O., with the Pastor Ben Lippert officiating.

Calling hours will be from 4 to 6 (two hours prior to services), on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at the church.
