Doris Jean Cochran, age 91, of Tuscarawas, O., passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 9, 2015, at Community Hospice House in New Philadelphia.
Jean was born November 29, 1923, at Tuscarawas, the daughter of the late W. A. “Babe” and Mona L. (Hilton) Metzger.
In addition to her parents, Jean is preceded in death by her husband Edward Cochran, whom she married February 20, 1966 and who passed away April 2, 2015; sisters Hilda Johnson, Betty Reymond and a brother Harry Metzger.
Jean was employed at the former Bonvechio’s Restaurant and she owned and operated Metzger’s Tavern for 47 years. She loved to cook, play cards and the slot machines.
Jean is survived by a sister Shirley Kleski of New Philadelphia and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Jean will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home, Inc. at Uhrichsville, with the Pastor Wally Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at St. James Lutheran Church Cemetery in Tuscarawas.
Calling hours will be from 12 to 1, (one hour prior to services) on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at the funeral home.
