DR. THEODORE ERNEST FAZZARI

Dr. Theodore Ernest Fazzari, age 83, of Scio, O., passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at the Kobacker House in Columbus, O. surrounded by his loving family.

Ted was born December 23, 1940, in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Theodore and Erma (Hill) Fazzari.

Ted began as a licensed barber in his dad’s barbershop then into engineering for Northrop Norair in California.  He then studied medicine in Bologna, Italy and became an Emergency Medical Physician at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Toledo, O. He worked at several hospitals including Mercy Memorial Hospital in Monroe, MI, Riverside Hospital in Toledo, O., St. Charles Hospital in Oregon, O., St. Luke’s Hospital in Toledo, O. and Ohio Valley Hospital in Steubenville, O.  He was instrumental in developing the rescue community, including Life Flight in Monroe County and Toledo, O. area. Ted saved many lives and was always in pursuit of knowledge, sharing it, and teaching others.  His curiosity and imagination knew no bounds.

Along with his many accomplishments, Ted also was a writer, artist, poet, and an avid listener of music – vinyl 45s, albums, CDs, cassette tapes, and occasional 78s.  He loved all types of music in all genres across all ages. He cheered for the Steelers and all the school teams his grandchildren attended.

In addition to his parents, Ted is preceded in death by his wife Ethel L. (Terembes) Fazzari, whom he married September 1, 1962 and who passed away December 11, 2013. He loved her and his family very much.

Ted is survived by his children Tanja Fazzari (James O’Dell) of Columbus O., Todd (Sheri) Fazzari of Dayton, O. and Tara Fazzari (Joseph Pepper, II) of Seattle, WA; siblings Anthony Allen Fazzari of Millsboro, PA and Elizabeth Atalski of Fort Mills, SC; grandchildren Connor Fazzari, Jenna Fazzari, and Tre Pepper.

Father Jeff Coning will conduct a funeral ceremony for Ted on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at 2 p.m., at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home, Inc. at Uhrichsville.

Calling hours will be from 12 to 2, (two hours prior to services) on Saturday, at the funeral home.
