E. LOIS ICKES
E. Lois Ickes, age 88, of Tuscarawas, O., passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2015, at the Community Hospice House in New Philadelphia, following a lengthy illness.
Lois was born May 29, 1927 at Tuscarawas, the daughter of the Clarence Leroy and Belva V. (Reichman) Metzger. In 1945, she graduated from Gnadenhutten High School. Lois was employed for several years at the former Dover Molded in Dover. She was a homemaker and a member of the St. James Lutheran Church in Tuscarawas.
In addition to her parents, Lois is preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Eugene Ickes Sr., who passed away on September 7. 2008; her son Larry Dean Ickes; 4 sisters and 4 brothers.
Lois is survived by her children Linda (Ron) Wright, Lynette (Bob) Melzer and Lloyd Ickes Jr., all of Tuscarawas; sister Betty Thorpe of Uhrichsville; sister-in-law Doris Ferquella of Alliance; eight grandchildren Karen (Neil) Rager and Rob (Theresa) Melzer all of Tuscarawas, Lloyd Ickes III of Newport, Veronica Ickes, Josh Ickes and Megan Schuerger all of Port Washington, Jamie Lopez of Texas and Josh Carpenter of Port Washington; fifteen great grandchildren and special friend Lori Newell.
Graveside services for Lois will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, November 6, 2015 at the St. James Lutheran Church Cemetery in Tuscarawas, with the Rev. Wallace Anderson officiating.
No calling hours will be observed.
