July 29, 1932 ~ June 13, 2015 (age 82) 82 Years Old

ELSIE PONGRATZ AULT

Following a lengthy battle with diabetic renal failure, Elsie Pongratz Ault was
received into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Saturday, June 13, 2015 at
Community Hospice House, New Philadelphia, OH. Elsie was born July 29,1932 in Uhrichsville, Ohio to William and Grace Barnes Pongratz. She graduated from Uhrichsville High School in 1950, and worked briefly at the Southside Pottery in Dennison following graduation.
October 27, 1951, she married the love of her life, Charles "Salty" Ault at St.
James Luthern Church in Tuscarawas, Ohio, and together they raised a family of
five children in Gnadenhutten. Through thick and thin, good times and hard times, their love for one another always carried them through. In their early years they owned and operated a small business, Ault's Greenhouse, where together they took much pride in serving their community. Elsie was baptized in 1957 at Fry's Valley Moravian Church, and reaffirmed her faith in 2015.
Elsie will be most remembered for so many wonderful attributes. She was a caring, loving wife, cherished mother, and awesome grandmother, devoted to her family, and a dear friend to many. Her laughter and sense of humor were a gift she shared with everyone in her presence. She was an avid Cleveland Indians fan, as well as a Country Music fan. One of her fondest times was attending a Waylon Jennings concert. Elsie was a tremendous cook, and enjoyed canning and baking; her pies were absolutely the best. She enjoyed gardening, reading, geneology, crocheting, and crossword puzzles. She had such a love for life, and an undying love for her husband, family, and friends. Elsie touched the heart and lives of all who knew her. She held tight to her faith, and loved her Lord with all her heart.
In the wake of her passing she leaves behind her beloved husband of 63 years, Salty Ault of Gnadenhutten; two daughters, Sheila (Fred) Davis of New Philadelphia and Sharon (Bob) Smart of Gnadenhutten; two sons, Richard (Helen) Ault of Gnadenhutten and Dan Ault of the home. Grandchildren, Matthew Vaca of Mansfield, OH; Crystal Vaca of Houston, TX; Richard "Spud" (Megan) Ault of Damascus,MD; Chad (Melissa) Smart of Gnadenhutten; Ryan Smart of New
Philadelphia; Derek Ault (Valerie Lovato) of Lake Havasu, AZ; and Jason (Ellen) Ault of Tampa, FL. Great grandchildren, Tyler, Dylan, and Macy Vaca; Tawney and Trevor Ault; Kaitlyn Smart; Alexis Stucin; Edie and Vinnie Meese; and Zoe Ault. Great-Great Grandchildren, Xavior and Trenton Stucin.
