ERMA MARIE (CARPENTER) FOUTS
1925-2018
Erma Marie (Carpenter) Fouts, age 93, of Washington Township, departed this earthly abode at Riverside Manor on Thursday, May 3, 2018.
Erma was born in Dennison, Ohio on St. Patrick’s Day 1925 to Leonard and Mary
(Boni) Carpenter. On September 22, 1945, she married her lifelong love, Kenneth E. Fouts.
As a child, Erma learned to find comfort in life’s everyday blessings, and produced these blessings for all around her each day of her life. A homemaker of inspirational skills, Erma possessed a keen intellect and sharp wit. Her impeccably clean home, full of delectable homemade food, was overflowing with love. Her chocolate chip cookies in particular were adored by any blessed enough to taste them. Erma was very involved in raising all her five grandchildren and greatly enjoyed her great-grandchildren as well.
Erma is survived by her husband Kenneth; their three children Karen Barnes and Sarah Fouts both of Washington Township and Dr. Kenneth Fouts II of Sacramento; their five grandchildren Natalie Collins, Emily Collins, Aaron VanVickle, Brian Collins and Laura Gray; their ten great-grandchildren Antonio, Lucia and Sofia Rosell; Caden, Claire and Baby Boy (coming in August) Collins; Ella, Lily, Alice and Beatrice Gray.
A service for celebration of Erma’s life will be hosted by Rev. Shaun Green at the Uhrichsville First United Methodist Church on Sunday, May 6, 2018. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m.; service at 4 p.m., with the Rev. Mark Unrue officiating.
Graveside services will be at 11:30 on Monday, May 7, 2018 at Evergreen Burial Park in New Philadelphia.
The family of Erma Fouts wishes to express sincere gratitude for Mark’s devoted pastoral care of Erma and to all the very loving caregivers at Riverside Manor.
