F. JANE SULLIVAN-BAIR

F. Jane Sullivan-Bair, age 97, of New Philadelphia, entered into the presence of the Lord on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at Hennis Care Centre in Dover.

Born July 1, 1927 in Hammondsville, Ohio, Jane is the daughter of the late McKinley and Katheryn (Parsons) Crooks.

In 1945, Jane graduated High School and received a bachelor’s degree from Asbury College in Wilmore, KY in 1949.  She then received her master’s degree from Scarritt College in Nashville, TN in 1952.  From 1952 to 1960, Jane was a missionary to the former Belgium Congo, Africa. She taught 1st grade for Indian Valley School District from 1975 to 1992.

In 1963, Jane married Claude Sullivan of Elida, New Mexico.  Two children were born to this union RuthAnn Martinelli and Rev. Steven Sullivan.  Claude died June 1973.  He was a math teacher for Indian Valley School District. In 1991, Jane married Harold Bair of Strasburg. Harold died April 28, 2005.

Jane is a member of the Ohio Retired Teachers Association and the State Retired Teachers Association.  She was a past member of AARP, member of Eberhart Coal Retirees Group and a lifetime member of the Uhrichsville First Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Jane is preceded in death by her son Rev. Steven L. Sullivan; a sister Ruth Hoobler and brothers Wallace, Rev. George, Rev. Paul and Clyde Crooks.

Jane is survived by her daughter RuthAnn Martinelli of New Philadelphia; grandchildren Joshua, Allison (Luke Langdon) and Justin (Kylie) Martinelli and Megan Sullivan; great grandchildren Ella, Braxton, Emmy and Harper Langdon.

Funeral services for Jane will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, March 28, 2025, at the Uhrichsville First Methodist Church in Uhrichsville, with the Pastor Kory Rowland officiating.  Burial will take place at 11 a.m., on Monday, March 31, 2025 at Hammondsville Cemetery in Hammondsville, Ohio.

Calling hours will be from 10 to 11 (one hour prior to services) on Friday, at the church.
