Gary Paul Adams, age 82, of Uhrichsville, O., passed away on Monday, December 7, 2015, at the Community Hospice House in New Philadelphia, following a short illness.
Born April 20, 1933 at Uhrichsville, Gary was the son of the late Harold Powers and Mildred (Zimmerman) Adams Woods.
In 1951, Gary graduated from Uhrichsville High School. He served in the United States Army and was employed at the Evening Chronicle in Uhrichsville and the Massillon Independent as a line typist. Gary and Teresa managed the Uhrichsville Swimming Pool for eight years. Gary was a member of the First Christian Church in Uhrichsville and attended the Life Way Assembly of God in New Philadelphia. He was also a life member of the Uhrichsville Elks #424.
In addition to his parents, Gary is preceded in death by a son-in-law J. R. Ridgway, who passed away September 6, 2006.
Gary is survived by his wife Teresa (Telaroli) Adams, of the home, who he married June 3, 1956; his daughters Diane Ridgway of Uhrichsville, Holly (Art) Gambs of Uhrichsville and Kelley (Mike) Sullivan of New Philadelphia; 2 grandchildren Adam (Maggie) Ridgway and Andrew Sullivan; 3 great grandchildren Ella Joy Ridgway, Lucy Ray Ridgway and Barrett Raymond Ridgway.
Memorial services for Gary will be held at 3 p.m., on Sunday, December 13, 2015, at the Life Way Assembly of God in New Philadelphia, with the Pastor Larry Fletcher officiating.
In keeping with Gary’s wishes, no calling hours will be observed. Inurnment will take place at Union Cemetery at a later date.
