GEORGE E. JOSEPH JR.
George E. Joseph Jr., age 91, of Uhrichsville, O., passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Roselane Nursing Home in Massillon, O.
The son of the late George and Ella (Green) Joseph, George was born on September 23, 1932 in Uhrichsville, O.
After graduating from Uhrichsville High School, George enlisted in the United State Air Force from September 26, 1952 to September 25, 1956. Having served during the Korean Conflict, George received the National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the Korean Service Medal.
George was employed as a Tuscarawas County Sheriff Deputy and also as the Executive Director at Harcatus. George was a great father and family was very important to him. He loved tinkering on things in his garage including cars and tractors and mowing his lawn. George loved to learn new things.
George with his former wife Carrie Maxine (Hunter) Joseph, are survived by their children Kimberly Joseph, George (Kathy) Joseph III and Carrie Joseph; sister Hazel Lewis; grandchildren Hunter, Larkin and Jent Joseph, Tariah (Jose) Fisher and Makayla Joseph; great grandchildren Zalayah Fisher and Jose Fisher Jr.; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and former wife, George is preceded in death by his children Esther Lynn and Micah Steven; two sisters Edna and Daisy and one brother Norman.
Funeral services for George will be held at 1 p.m., on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 521 Stratton Ave SW, New Philadelphia, O., with the Bishop Tom McKnight officiating.
Burial will take place at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd., Seville, O., on Friday, March 1, 2024 at 12:45 p.m.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m., on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home, Inc. in Uhrichsville and then from 12 to 1 (one hour prior) to services on Thursday, at the church.
