GERTRUDE LEONA DALPIAZ

Gertrude Leona Dalpiaz, age 89, of Uhrichsville, O., passed away on Friday, May 31, 2024.

Gert was the last surviving child of the late Ray T. and Hannah C. (Eckhardt) Henry.  She was born March 23, 1935.  She was a homemaker who spent 70 years at her current residence.  Gert enjoyed upholstering, babysitting her grandchildren, flowers and she was called the God Mother of the West Side. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church.

On January 15, 1951, in Russell, Kentucky, Gert married Frank R. Dalpiaz.  Frank passed away November 29, 2008.  In addition to her parents and husband, Gert is preceded in death by her siblings Mary Margaret Herron, Robert, Gene, John, Hank, Ray and Waddie Henry and son-in-law David Cerana.

She is survived by her children Lona Rae (Ronald) Recchiuti of Dennison, Allen (Patty) Dalpiaz of Uhrichsville, Frank “Sput” Dalpiaz of Uhrichsville and Julie Kay Cerana (Huck) Smith of Uhrichsville; grandchildren Jamie (Sandy) Recchiuti, Matthew Speer, Troy Dalpiaz, Nathaniel Dalpiaz and Brandon (Dannielle) Dalpiaz; great grandchildren Peyton, Tori, Riley, Lucas, Kimber and Mila Dalpiaz and Tanner Speer.

A graveside service for Gert will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at Union Cemetery in Uhrichsville, with Heidi Willison officiating.

A celebration of life will follow the graveside service at the Grace United Methodist Church Hall.

Memorial contributions may be made to Grace United Methodist Church or Uhrichsville Fire and Rescue.
