HOWARD LLOYD “J. R.” MAHAFFEY JR.

Howard Lloyd “J. R.” Mahaffey Jr., age 70, of Uhrichsville, Ohio, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2026, at Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital in Dover, Ohio, following a short illness.

Born August 26, 1955, in Dennison, Ohio, J. R. is the son of the late Howard Lloyd Mahaffey Sr. and Kathleen (Alfred) Mahaffey.

In 2025, J. R. retired from driving truck.  He was the owner and operating of his own truck for over 30 years.  He was a member of the Uhrichsville Moose and Uhrichsville Eagles.  J. R. enjoyed spending his time camping at Atwood Lake.

On July 26, 1991, J. R. married Mary Frances (Stephens) Mahaffey, who survives of the home.  Also surviving are his children Mike Miller, Tina Walton and Crystal (Brian) Martini; a sister Sandy (Jimmy) Orr; grandchildren Ciera Burger, Jade Burger, Cameron Kinnen, Jackson Martini, Zoe (Caden) Miller; a great grandchild expected and 19 nieces and nephews.

In keeping with J. R.’s wishes, no services or calling hours will be observed.  Inurnment will take place at Ridgecrest Memory Gardens at a later date.
