JAMES ELMER BIER JR.
James Elmer Bier Jr., age 68, of Cadiz, O., passed away unexpectedly, on Friday, May 8, 2015, at Harrison Community Hospital.
The son of James Elmer and Rosanna Jeanette (Brown) Bier, James was born in Dennison, O., on April 7, 1947.
In 1965, he graduated from Uhrichsville High School and enlisted in the United States Army, having served his county in Vietnam from September 13, 1966 to September 12, 1968. James was employed at Armco Steel as a pipe sorter. He enjoyed hunting.
James is survived by his wife, whom he married on April 22, 1972, Brenda (Cook) Bier, who survives of the home. Also surviving are his children Laura (Timothy) Liptak of Uniontown and Thomas Bier of Youngstown; brother John (Debra) Bier of Dennison; sister-in-law Sharon Bier of Uhrichsville; grandchildren Steven Liptak and Kaitlyn Bier, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by a brother William “Bill” Bier; sisters Gloria Wright, Mary Bland, Janice Bollinger and Rose Bier.
Funeral services for James will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home, Inc. at Uhrichsville, with the Pastor Sandy McNutt Mann officiating. Burial will follow at Minksville Cemetery in Cadiz.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m., on Monday, May 11, 2015 at the funeral home.
