Janice Ann Sanders, age 78, of Tuscarawas, O., born August 4, 1936, in Uhrichsville, the daughter of the late Earl and Ella (Eichel) Walker, passed away unexpectedly, on Monday, May 11, 2015, at her residence.
1954, Janice graduated from Uhrichsville High School. She was employed at Union Hospital for 35 years as a baker. Janice was a member of the South Broadway Methodist Church in New Philadelphia. She loved dancing and was a member of the New Towne Cloggers. She also enjoyed camping, dancing with the oldies and baking cookies for the holidays.
In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her husband who passed away February 20, 1994, Eugene O. Sanders and a brother Richard Walker.
Janice is survived by her two children Tammy (Sheldon) DeMattio of New Philadelphia and Donald (Teresa) Sanders of New Philadelphia; siblings Bob (Karin) Walker of Barnhill, Judy (Ray) Leglise of Fairhope Alabama, Kay Swisshelm of New Philadelphia and Beverly (Joe) Donehue of Tuscarawas; sister-in-law Linda Walker Morin; five grandchildren Eric (Carman) DeMattio, Geoff (Danielle) DeMattio, D. J. (Tonya) Sanders, Heather (J. D.) Dorto and Scott (Amanda) Sanders; twelve great grandchildren C. J., Alexis, Luciana, Gio, Gia, Kierston, Zoe, Bri, Brooklyn, Bronson, Hunter and Easton; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Janice will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home Inc. in Uhrichsville with the Pastor Josh McDonald officiating. Burial will follow at St. James Lutheran Church Cemetery in Tuscarawas.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m., on Friday, May 15, 2015 at the funeral home.
