JOAN MARIE MCCOLLAM

Joan Marie McCollam, age 85, of Dennison, passed away on May 14, 2025 at Ohio’s Hospice Lifecare Truman House in New Philadelphia.

Joan was born June 25, 1939 in Dennison.  She was the daughter of the late James W. and Ruth (Snyder) McCollam.

In 1957, Joan graduated from Uhrichsville High School.  She was employed by Tusco Grocers in Dennison and Scott’s 5 & 10/TGY in Dover. Joan was a life member of First Christian Church where she was the church secretary for many years.  She enjoyed walking and putting puzzles together.

Joan is survived by her nieces and nephews Joe (Chris Heitger) Clauser of Akron, Robert Scott of Dennison, Lori (Jay Carter) Clauser of Dennison and Cathy Straub (Rick Straub deceased) of Dover; and a great niece Tenielle (John) McCarron of Massillon and a great great nephew Jack McCarron.

In addition to her parents, Joan is preceded in death by her siblings Margaret Scott in 2014 and Sue Clauser in 2020; brothers-in-law James Scott and Joe Clauser.

Funeral services for Joan will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the First Christian Church in Uhrichsville, with the Pastor Gordon Furbay officiating.  Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Uhrichsville.

No calling hours will be observed.
