Joanne (Archer) Staley

JOANNE STALEY

Joanne Staley, age 88, went home to be with the Lord on October 6, 2025.  Born in Uhrichsville, Ohio, 1937.  Joanne resided in North Canton, Ohio most of her life.  She was an excellent seamstress, starting her own drapery business in her home.  She went on to work at Cutler Realty.  She enjoyed meeting new people and finding the perfect home for them.  Joanne was best known for her homemade cookies.  The grandkids always called her “The Cookie Grandma”.  She made hundreds of cookies for her grandkids’ weddings.  Her own children knew her as “The Gambler”, as her favorite place to travel with her husband, Gary, was any casino, especially Las Vegas.  She was a longtime volunteer greeter at Aultman Hospital.  Joanne loved being with their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  Family meant everything to her and she meant everything to them.  She will be missed beyond words.

Joanne is survived by her husband of 70 years, Gary Staley; daughter, Debbie (Mark) Lukens, Tim (Holly) Staley, Kerry (Laura) Staley, Josh (Val) Staley; grandchildren, Chad (Jennifer) Lukens, Corey (Trisha) Lukens, Curt Lukens, Nicole (Mike) Fink, Nathan (Taylor) Staley, Cece (Kiefer) Staley, Candice (Mike) Richards, Clarissa (Ben) Staley, Ada and Allen Staley; great-grandchildren; Chase, Colton, Jack, Audrey, Vivienne, Kate and Anna Lukens, Scarlett and Wyatt Fink, Liza, Baker, and Sadie Staley; brother and sister-in-law Bob and Janet Archer. 

The family will hold a private graveside service at Union Cemetery in Uhrichsville, Ohio.
