Joseph Salina Obituary

JOSEPH ALAN SALINA (1962-2024)

Joseph Alan Salina peacefully passed away and joined his wife on Friday, March 22, 2024, at Claymont Health and Rehab in Uhrichsville, at the age of 61.

Joe was born October 9, 1962 in Dennison, OH, the youngest and “the baby” of 4 children Joseph Geno and H. Estella (Armstrong) Salina.  He was a 1980 graduate of Claymont High School.

On March 9, 1990, Joe married the love of his life, Shari Lynn Butler Salina at Rush Community Church.  Joe and Shari created and welcomed a beautiful family of three children Geno (Kaylie Moore) Salina, Elly (Evan) Razor and Ches (Emma Sprowl) Salina. Joe’s greatest joy in life was his children and grandchildren.  He was a kind and gentle father that never missed a baseball game or volleyball match.  Joe, alongside Shari was their children’s biggest supporters.  In 2020, Joe’s newest passion in life was born (Lorenzo) and he became better known as “Papa”,  His role as Papa continued to grow with the birth of Patton and Piper in 2022 and Lawson born January 2024.

In addition to his children and grandchildren, Joe is survived by his best friends, his siblings; Joe’s brother Ed (Donna) Salina and sisters Regina (Dick) Heath and Debbie (Kim) Clarke; mother and father-in-law Charlie and Joann Butler;  brothers-in-law Todd (Kristi) Butler, Danny (Kathy) Beach and Lanny (Amy) Beach; along with many close aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.  Joe’s family was his everything and he lived a life full of love and great memories.

Joe was employed by Dover Chemical Corp for 30 years.  He began his career as an electrician, followed by maintenance and ended as an operator in the BaerLocher facility inside Dover Chemical.  Joe was known to be the man with the answers.  If something was too difficult, his coworkers called upon him.  Some of his best friends in life came from working at Dover Chemical.

We believe Joe is fixing and rewiring rooms wherever he is now residing.  We know his days start with a pot of coffee in his recliner and ends the same with a glass of chocolate milk watching his grandchildren play, just as he would want.

Funeral services for Joe will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, March 29, 2024, at the Rush Community Church of the Nazarene, with Pastor Brett Warkentine officiating.
