Obituary

Marjorie J. Smith, age 95, died June 28 at her home in Uhrichsville. She was the daughter of Harry and Jennie Plotts and the wife of Robert C. (Snuffy) Smith.

Those who survive include a son, Robert Smith of Uhrichsville; a daughter, Jennifer Shaffer of Sacramento, CA, a granddaughter, Jodie Fields of Sacramento; a sister, Carol (Charles) Ervin of St. James City, FL; a sister, Diane Plotts of Clemmons, NC, and many nieces and nephews.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents and her husband; by a brother, Dean Plotts; a sister, Mary Lou Gibbs; two nieces, Challis Gibbs and Andrea Ervin, and a nephew, Eric Hawkins.

After graduating from Uhrichsville High School in 1944, Marjorie attended Columbus Business School and then worked as a secretary at Wright Patterson Air Force Base during WWII. She was later a bookkeeper for Coca-Cola Bottling of Dennison and the United Bank in Uhrichsville.

Marjorie was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Uhrichsville. 

According to her wishes, her remains were cremated. Memorials may be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children in Columbus, Ohio or the charity of your choice.
