MARK EDWIN JONES     

Mark Edwin Jones, age 64, of New Philadelphia (Wainwright), passed away on Thursday March 21, 2024, at his residence in New Philadelphia, following a hard fought battle with stage 4 colon cancer.

Mark was born on May 4, 1959 in Dennison, to Lonnie K. and Opal M. (Warner) Jones.  In addition to his parents, Mark is preceded in death by his brother “Bud” Clark Jones and granddaughter Kialeigh Nichole Jones; grandson Brenten Marcus Fisher and father and mother-in-law Paul and Shirley Vance and father-in-law Dan Tucker.

Mark was employed at Novelis in Uhrichsville as a maintenance man.  He was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed golfing.

Mark is survived by his wife, whom he married on September 9, 1988 at Fry’s Valley Church, Sondra Jones, of the home.  Also surviving are his children Dena (Nick) Burrier, Amanda (Shawn) Murphy and Kristopher (Madison Couts) Jones; grandchildren Korie, Kialer, Lauryn, Wyatt, Brooklynn, Ireland, Paizleigh, Jayvin and Nolan; siblings Roger (Lisa) Jones, Glenn Jones, Vernon (Theresa) Jones, Sandy (Nick) Carter, Freda (Otto) Smart, Sue Jones,  Mary (Larry) Radcliff, Betty (Bud) Bell, Vicki (Dale) Krebs and Alda (Gerald) Gram; sisters-law Patricia Jones and Denise (Mike) Phillips and numerous nieces and nephews and special friends Bruce Horsfall and Rusty Roth

Funeral services for Mark will be held at 1 p.m., on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home, Inc. in Uhrichsville, with the Pastor Cory Shaffer officiating.  Burial will follow at Fry’s Valley Cemetery.

Calling hours will be from 11 to 1 (two hours prior to services) on Wednesday.
