Mary Jo Tanley, age 75, of Uhrichsville, O., passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2015, at her residence following an extended illness.
Mary Jo was born August 15, 1940 in Portland, O., the daughter of the late James W. and Helen I. (Cornell) Watson.
In addition to her parents, Mary Jo is preceded in death by her husband Homer Franklin Tanley Jr., who passed away April 17, 1988, along with a sister and brother.
Mary Jo was a homemaker and a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Moose.
Mary Jo is survived by her children Laurie (John) Shields of Uhrichsville and Homer F. “Frank” Tanley III of the home; a sister Ruth Ann Dysert of Wellsville; three grandchildren Meranda (Ted) Tinney, William F. Pugh and Laura J. Pugh; ten great grandchildren John and Alexis Tinney, Sam, William and David Pugh, Kaden, Derrick and Kathryn Pugh, Nathan and Matthew Pugh.
Father Ty Tomson will celebrate the funeral mass for Mary Jo at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, November 9, 2015 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Uhrichsville.
Calling hours will be from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., on Monday, November 9, 2015 at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home, Inc. at Uhrichsville.
