RICHARD D. HURRAY SR.

Richard D. Hurray Sr., age 93, of Dover, formerly of Uhrichsville, passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at The Inn at Northwood Village in Dover,  following a lengthy illness.

Dick was born January 29, 1930 in Ambridge, PA, the son of the late Robert and Thelma (Cochran) Hurray.

In 1948, Dick graduated from Canton South High School.  He enlisted in the United States Army and served from 1951 to 1952 during the Korean Conflict.

Dick was self-employed doing many home improvement projects.  He was a member of the Tippecanoe Assembly of God.  God was #1 in his life!

On January 25, 1953, Dick married Marion B. (Cloman) Hurray.  Marion passed away on January 12, 1996.  In addition to his parents and wife, Dick is preceded in death by his siblings Gloria, Lois, Connie, Dorothy and Phyllis.

Dick is survived by his sons Richard (Corinna) Hurray Jr. of Dover and Mike (Andrea) Hurray of New Philadelphia; his grandchildren Wendi, Paul, Isabella and Ben Hurray; sisters Polly (Terry) Wright, Rosemary (Tom) Shurelle, Roberta (Denny) Houser and brothers David Priore, Vincent Priore Jr. and Alvie Hurray.

Funeral services for Dick will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at 8 p.m., at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home, Inc. at Uhrichsville, with the Rev. Tom Call and Rev. Roger Zimmerman officiating.  Burial will take place at Union Cemetery in Uhrichsville, beside his wife.

Calling hours will be from 7 to 8, (one hour prior to services) on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
