Richard "Dick" L. Lentz

RICHARD L. “DICK” LENTZ  

Richard L. Lentz, age 85, of Dennison, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2021, at Truman Hospice House in New Philadelphia, O., following a period of declining health. 

Born on October 1, 1935, in Dover, Dick is the son of the late John Lloyd and Ethel Beatrice (Kohler) Lentz.

In 1953, Dick graduated from Tuscarawas Warwick High School and was employed at Joy Manufacturing/Howden Buffalo in New Philadelphia as a Welding Department Supervisor.  He was a member of the Strait Gate Baptist Church in Dennison, a life member of the Elks Lodge #424, Mystic Tie Lodge #194, Moose Lodge #740 and Eastern Star Oriental Chapter #107.

Dick is survived by his wife Sara E. (Klein) Lentz, whom he married September 30, 1956; his children Barry (Angela) Lentz of Coshocton, Kim (Mark) Stull of Gnadenhutten, Lisa (John) O’Hara and Denise (Chris) Rizor all of Dennison; grandchildren Emily (Tom) Davis, Hannah Lentz, Alaina Lentz, Aaron (Emily) Hawkins, Ashley Conrad, Quinn (Jenna) O’Hara, Ean (Hilary) Rizor, Thane (Chanda) Rizor; great grandchildren Grace and Denton Hawkins, Cameron, Owen and Adilena Conrad, Macklin and Sutton Rizor, Kash and Kodie Lynn Rizor and expecting a great granddaughter in April; a brother Carlton (Lucy) Lentz; sisters-in-law, Katherine Lentz  and Ruth Lentz; sister-in-law, Barb Lahm and brother-in-law Richard Klein; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Dick is preceded in death by his brothers Lloyd Lentz Jr., William Lentz and Glenn Lentz; mother and father-in-law Don and Lena Klein; brother-in-law Ralph Lahm and sister-in-law Natalie Klein.

Funeral services for Dick will be held at 4 p.m., on Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home, Inc. in Uhrichsville, with Pastor Mike O’Guin officiating.

Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m., (two hours prior to services) on Wednesday, at the funeral home.

Masks and social distancing will be required.
