Roy Eugene White, age 88, of Uhrichsville, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, October 14, 2015, after a period of declining health.
Born June 20, 1927, at Weavers Run in Tippecanoe, Roy was the son of the late Forest and Zelma (Copeland) White.
On June 30, 1957, Roy married Shirley A. Fouts White. They were married for 44 years until her passing on June 5, 2001. He is also preceded in death by a son-in-law James Luke and a sister Vivian Lanning.
In 1945, Roy graduated from Uhrichsville High School. He was employed at the local sewer pipe but was a farmer all his life. Roy attended the Newport United Methodist Church. His passion was farming and his family.
Roy is survived by his children Sharon (companion Loren Crabbs) Swaldo of Uhrichsville, Mary Jean Luke of Massillon and Larry (Laura) White of Uhrichsville; siblings Ruth (Bob) Lane of New Philadelphia and Ralph (June) White of Uhrichsville; 3 sisters-in-law Norma Phillips of Newport, Jane Dinger of Midvale and Ruth Fouts of Riverside; brother-in-law Ronald Fouts of Newport; 10 grandchildren Jade (Justin) Kilpatrick, Jewel Swaldo, Olivia White, Forest White, Carter White, Josh (Jen) Luke, Rachel (Jared) Detter, David (Emily) Luke, Steven Luke and Hannah Luke.
Funeral services for Roy will be held at 1 p.m., on Monday, October 19, 2015, at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home, Inc. at Uhrichsville, with the Rev. Lyle Warren officiating. Burial will follow at Newport Cemetery in Uhrichsville.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m., on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at the funeral home.
