Born June 9, 1952, in Marietta, Ohio, he was a son of the late Charles Ledsome and Delma (Shears) Cole.

Russell proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army for 8 years.  After returning back home, he lovingly supported his family as a lumber grader then a lumberyard supervisor at Marsh Industries for 25 years.

Russell was a huge fan of Ohio State Football and everyone knew that they would receive a “GO BUCKEYES” text before the start of each game.

A wonderful, caring, loving brother, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Russell will be greatly missed by his wife of 47 years, Nancy, whom he married December 22, 1971; his children David (Mary) Ledsome of Uhrichsville, Danielle (Mike Sr.) Watters of Canton; his grandchildren Derek (fiancé Diane Fawcett) Ledsome of Tuscarawas, Dusti Ledsome of Canton, Michael Watters Jr. and Samantha Watters of Canton and his great grandchildren Bentley, Kiayla, Easton, Ellie, Aaden and Avery.  Russell is also survived by his sisters Sandy (Alan) McKinnon of South Carolina, Robin (Dale) Thornton of Port Washington and Julia (Dean) Meese of Bolivar.  He is also survived by a sister-in-law Marla Ledsome of Dover and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and several close cousins.

Russell was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Charles Dan Ledsome.

Cremation has been entrusted to Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home, Inc. at Uhrichsville.  A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
