RUTH DOROTHY HALL

Ruth Dorothy Hall, age 94, of New Philadelphia, passed away October 7, 2023, at her residence in New Philadelphia, following a brief illness.

Ruth was born on March 11, 1929 in Wheeling, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Arthur and Lillian (Frye) Thomas.

Ruth was a homemaker who enjoyed square dancing, playing cards, bingo, cooking and baking.  She attended the First Christian Church in Wheeling.

In addition to her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by her husband Edward J. Hall, whom she married September 26, 1947 in Wheeling and who passed away July 21, 2016; a daughter Ruthann Slocum; a sister Virginia Rose; three brothers John, David and Jerry Thomas; and a granddaughter Holly Page.

Ruth is survived by her children John Edward Hall of Los Angeles, California, Judy Lorinne Farrow of New Philadelphia, Robert (Shelby) Hall of Scio, Diane Sherretts of Mt. Pleasant, Paul Martin (Lisa) Hall of Parma; sixteen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; numerous great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services and calling hours for Ruth will be private at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home, Inc. at Uhrichsville, with the Rev. Mark Unrue officiating.  Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Uhrichsville.
