SHIRLEY (LOCKER) CROMLEY
Shirley (Locker) Cromley, age 88, of Uhrichsville, passed away Monday, June 3, 2024, at Claymont Health and Rehabilitation in Uhrichsville, following a brief illness.
Shirley was born in Zoarville, O. and raised in Somerdale, O., on December 28, 1935 the daughter of the late Clem and Gertrude (Grund) Locker. She graduated from Dover High School in 1953 and retired from Horizon Coal, Holmes Limestone Co., Oxford Mining in Strasburg, O., in 2004.
She is a member of the First United Methodist Church in Uhrichsville O., and belonged to the Uhrichsville Lady Elks 424. Shirley was an avid bowler and was secretary of her league for many years.
Shirley dearly loved her children grandchildren and great grandchildren, attending their sporting events whenever possible. She looked forward to cooking Thanksgiving dinner and Christmas Eve parties with all of them. She enjoyed bowling, yard work and working puzzles.
Shirley is survived by daughter Susan (Mark) Marsh of Uhrichsville and son Daniel (Karen) Powell of New Philadelphia; five grandchildren and their children Doug (Sarah) Marsh, Kainen; Greg (Megan) Marsh, Vinny and Nico; Todd (Tonya) Marsh, Ellie, Laiken, Bryce; Jennifer (Shane) Homan, Evan and Caylin; Nathan (Krystal) Powell, Katie and Conner; siblings Pauline, Marlene and Faye; step children Jeff Cromley and Sue Smith; five step grandchildren; eight step great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents; her husband Paul Cromley 2004; son Michael Powell 2011; stepson Rob Cromley 2000; step grandson Kyle Cromley 2022, she was preceded in death by 9 brothers and 5 sisters.
As per her wishes, there will be no services. Cremation will take place and she will be buried alongside her son Mike at a later date, in Union Cemetery in Uhrichsville.
