Shirley Ann Hodge Edie, age 78, of Uhrichsville, O., passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2015, at Schoenbrunn Health Care in New Philadelphia, following a lengthy illness.
Born on January 31, 1937, in Malvern, O., Shirley was the daughter of the late Karl and Mildred (Kireta) Hodge. Shirley was the owner and operator of the Blue Goose in Midvale. She was referred to as “Mother Goose”. Shirley enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians.
Shirley is survived by her children Debbie Coventry of Uhrichsville, Rick (Vicky) Archer of New Cumberland, Wayne (Mary) Grosenbacher of Dennison and Troy (Amanda Carney) Edie of Akron; 7 grandchildren Jennifer (Matt Waters) Coventry, Aaron (Tina) Coventry, Angela (Ryan) Best, Danielle (Geoff) DeMattio, Alicia (Andy) Miller, Tascha (Brent) Deets and Elizabeth Page and 16 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by a sister Eva Edwards and a brother Karl (Donnie) Hodge.
Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m., on Monday, June 29, 2015 at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home, Inc. at Uhrichsville.
