SHIRLEY MAY THOMPSON

Shirley May Thompson, age 74, of New Philadelphia, O., passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2021, at Aultman Hospital in Canton, O., following a brief illness.

Born August 1, 1947, Shirley is the daughter of the late Robert H. and Betty June (Graham) Smith. 

Shirley was a former member of the Uhrichsville Moose and she volunteered at Friends of the Homeless in New Philadelphia, O.  She loved sewing, breakfast, card nights, shopping and video games.  One of her favorite past times was spinning her children and grandchildren around on the dance floor.  Shirley helped anyone that needed help and was never judgmental.

In addition to her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by a brother Daniel “Danny” Smith.

Shirley is survived by her children Wesley Throne of New Philadelphia, Timothy Throne of New Philadelphia, Jesse (Amy) Kirkbride of New Philadelphia, Chandra (TJ) McMillen of Bowerston and Ashley Thompson of New Philadelphia; her siblings Robert Smith, Chris Booth and Ernie Smith all of California; thirteen grandchildren and many family and friends.

Funeral services for Shirley will be held at 8 p.m., on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home, Inc. in Uhrichsville, with the Pastor Larry Fletcher officiating.

Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 (two hours prior to services) on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at the funeral home.
