Sylvia Rebecca Morris, age 80, of Tippecanoe, O., passed away on Friday, October 16, 2015, at Community Hospice House in New Philadelphia, following a short illness.
Born February 18, 1935 at Rush Township, Uhrichsville, Sylvia was the daughter of the late George L. Biddlestone, Mary D. (Fouts) Biddlestone Fouts and stepfather W. Harvey Fouts.
In 1953, Sylvia graduated from Dennison High School. She was a lifelong resident of the area and a homemaker. Sylvia was a member of the Rush Community Church of the Nazarene in Uhrichsville, the Uhrichsville Music Study Club and the West Chester Senior Center. She enjoyed quilting and embroidering.
In addition to her parents, Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband Donald E. Morris, whom she married on January 12, 1954 and who passed away on March 16, 2003; a son-in-law Allen Cappel; 5 brothers Albert, Raymond, Walter, James and infant brother George Biddlestone and a sister Hazel Casteel..
Sylvia is survived by her daughters Sandra (Norvel Nay) Cappel of Tippecanoe and Dawn (Austin) Sell of Bowerston; brother Charles Elwin (Mae) Fouts of Georgia; 2 sisters Ethel Stevens of Baltic and Thelma Meek of Gnadenhutten; 4 grandchildren Damin (Vanessa) Cappel of Sunbury, Alex Cappel of Croton, Eric (Shaealene) Sell of Findlay and Ashley Sell of New Philadelphia; 5 great grandchildren Rebecca, Jailynn, Brooke, Reileigh and Easton.
Funeral services for Sylvia will be held at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at the Rush Community Church of the Nazarene in Uhrichsville with the Rev. Brett Warkentine officiating. Burial will follow at Rush Church Cemetery in Uhrichsville.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m., on Monday, October 19, 2015 at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home, Inc. in Uhrichsville and from 10 to 11, (one hour prior to services) on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at the church.
