Terry Ann Scott, age 88, of New Philadelphia, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at the Community Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia, following a lengthy illness.
Terry was born on October 23, 1934 in Uhrichsville, to the late Paul W. and Helen O. (Packer) Jones. In addition to her parents, Terry is preceded in death by her sister.
In 1952, Terry graduated from Uhrichsville High School. She was employed at AT&T, GTE and Verizon, where she helped develop and implement a new billing system. Terry was a former member of the Uhrichsville First United Methodist Church. She was a lifeguard in high school, loved the water, aquatic synchronized swimming, sewing, deer hunting and her dog “Janny”
Terry is survived by her husband of 68 years and who she’s been with since high school, Earl Gary Scott, who survives of the home; her children Robin (Robert) Weiss of Apopka, Florida and Jeff (Amy Jones) Scott of New Philadelphia.
Funeral services for Terry will be held at 1 p.m., on Monday, May 22, 2023, at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home, Inc. at Uhrichsville with the Pastor Terry Wilcox officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Burial Park in New Philadelphia.
Calling hours will be from 11 to 1, (two hours prior to services) on Monday, May 22, 2023, at the funeral home.
