Barbie Burdett Obituary

BARBIE BURDETT

Barbie Burdett, age 77, of Uhrichsville, passed away on Friday, June 15, 2018, at Community Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia.

Born March 10, 1941 in Xenia, O., Barbie is the daughter of the late John Garey and Francis (Young) Western.

Barbie was a homemaker, cook, caregiver, friend and an angel of life.  She loved her flowers, roses, plants, gardening, birds and butterflies.  Barbie loved all of her children very much and was the rock of the family and held us all together in good times and bad.  Everyone who knew Barbie loved her.

Towards the end of her illness, she loved all of her home health care aides that helped her along the way and thought of them as family.

Barbie loved going to yard sales and second hand stores; going to Poppy’s Restaurant  to see family and friends.  She also loved spending time with family the most.  A must for her was her coffee.

In addition to her parents, Barbie is preceded in death by sister Rosie Williams, sister Nancy Watkins, sister Angel Eva Haney, brother Chuck Western, stepfather Milloni Western, grandson Justin Leroy Burdett and sister Mary (Garey) Martin.

Barbie is survived by her children Charles Harman, Lora Harman Breneman, Candy Harman Rogers, Tina Harman Raine, George (Niki) Peters III, Ruthy (Matthew) Michael, Walter (Billie) Burdett II; 20 year companion Lorrin “Ike” Eick and best friend and buddy Walter Burdett Sr.; siblings Dena Bichsel and Milloni “”Butch” Western; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Barbie will be held on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at 12:00 p.m., at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home, Inc. in Uhrichsville with Nikita Richardson officiating.  Burial will follow at Gnadenhutten Cemetery.

Calling hours will be from 10 to 12, (two hours prior to services) on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at the funeral home.

We will miss you and love you so much.

And nothing seems the same;

But God calls us one by one

The chain will link again.”
