GLENN SMITH

1921-2019

Glenn Smith, age 97, of Tuscarawas, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2019, at Community Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia.

 

Born October 9, 1921, in Gnadenhutten, Glenn is the son of the late Homer and Ruth. R. (Lawver) Smith.

 

In 1941, Glenn graduated from Gnadenhutten High School.  He enlisted in the United States Army on December 15, 1942 and served until December 16, 1945.  Glenn was employed at Belden Brick as a kiln tender.  He attended Foursquare Gospel Church in Dennison.  Glenn enjoyed the Cleveland Indians and Browns, hunting and he loved to run his beagle dogs.

 

On July 13, 1947, Glenn married Anna Belle (Trushell) Smith, who survives of the home.  Also surviving are his children Sue Smith of Tuscarawas, Linda (Dave) Norman of Newcomerstown, Glenn “Bubba” (Bonnie) Smith of Uhrichsville, Rose Smith of Tuscarawas and Christina Smith of Pennsylvania; brother Kenneth (Barb) Smith of Uhrichsville; brother-in-law Ralph (Wanda) Trushell; grandchildren Jessica “Shon” Smith, Mark Norman, Devin (Peggy) Norman, Pamela (Jeff) Honabarger and Justin Smith; great grandchildren Abby (Spencer) Fox, Reed Honabarger, Marshall Norman, Kennedy Norman, Jaylyn Kellogg, Ayla Norman, Ezra Norman and Paris Norman.

 

In addition to his parents, Glenn is preceded in death by two brothers Chalmers and Raymond Smith.

 

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at the Foursquare Gospel Church in Dennison.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Hospice Truman House of Tuscarawas County, 716 Commercial Ave., SW, New Philadelphia, O., 44663.
