JOHN JACK MORRIS
John Jack Morris, age 80, of Gnadenhutten, passed away on Thursday, August 5, 2021, at Claymont Health and Rehabilitation in Uhrichsville, O., following a period of declining health.
Born February 28, 1941, in Dover, Jack was the son of the late Jack and Delores (McKnight) Morris.
In 1959, Jack graduated from Uhrichsville High School. He was a hardworking man who started his career at 16 at West Side Garage. He then went on to work for 10 years at Truck Sales and Service, for 30 years at Ohio CAT with 20 of those years as a resident mechanic for Holmes Limestone. He was also a 32nd degree mason. Jack enjoyed hunting, farming and spending time with his family.
Jack is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ruth Ann (Butcher) Morris, of the home; two children John (Rhonda) Morris and JoLynn Bowman; siblings Jim (Marylin) Morris and Annette Cline; 3 grandsons Andrew (Jessie) McCleary, Matt (Hilary) Morris and Dalton (Rebecca) Baker; 4 step grandchildren Christi, Michelle, AJ and Ridge; great grandchildren Kimberly, Nash and Bode Morris, Carter and Will McCleary and Scarlett Baker; step great grandchildren Kyra, Kalynn, Kylee, Kayden, Avery, Bella, Brealyn, Brantly and Brystal.
In addition to his parents, Jack is preceded in death by a daughter-in-law Kimberly (Fouts) Morris and his daughter’s fiancé Dan Sturtz.
Funeral services for Jack will be held at 1 p.m., on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home, Inc. at Uhrichsville, with the Rev. Mark Unrue officiating. Burial will follow at Ridgecrest Memory Gardens in Dover.
Calling hours will be from 6 to 9 p.m., on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at the funeral home.
